Longines L2.730.4.11.0 wrist watches news:
I recently learned that this watch does not yet have an official name. It will sometime next year. This is a new version of the Ralph Lauren Sporting watch. It has an elm burl wood dial and face that is meant to evoke the interior of one of Ralph Lauren's cars from his personal collection - a 1938 Bugatti (that is as sexy as a top model). The watch will contain an IWC made manually wound movement. Lovely, and just over $13,000.Read my full article on this new for 2011 Ralph Lauren Sporting watch at Haute Living here.

I could not believe this.Last Spring I purchased a Steelfish for about 35% off of retail at the official Breitling AD in the town where I grew up.This Saturday, I was back home and went into their store only to find out that the entire chain is going out of business after 175 years. All Omegas, Breitlings, Zeniths, Raymond Weil, Rado, Baume and Mercier, Tag were 20 % off. Some were 50% off.One store had the Chrono Avenger M1 with the blue countdown sailing timer and the Airwolf for 50% off. Even a solid gold chronomat evolution was marked down from 20K to 10K.A guess a sign of the tough economic times.Sort of Bittersweet.
This is good entertainment, and I thought I'd share it before the auction ended because I'm not bidding on something as dangerous as this:cgi.ebay/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...#ht_500wt_1182A seller with only 5 feedbacks is selling a Vacheron Constantin at a very low opening bid. With 5 days left, I sent a message asking to see the movement. The watch has a display back so it should be no problem. It's also the sure way to spot a fake. Well, no reply. With 3 days left I asked the seller if we could meet - he's in NE Pennsylvania and I'm in southern NJ so it wouldn't be a big deal for me to drive. No reply again. I sent one last message asking for replies to the first two inquiries but of course no reply again. Now there is one bid - from a buyer with NO feedback! If anyone knows anything about eBay and the games that go on, you should watch this one!
Just curios as to what this discontinued model is going for these days---it is my understanding that they are in relatively high demand.Assuming you have a very good and lightly used 2254, what can one expect to pay---with full documentation of course?
