- I like the watch, but the one I got had scratches on the band. I bought it in silver. Also, the time had been set on it and it looked like someone may have used it.

Longines L27174783 wrist watches news:
Inspired by Slowpo thread here:.info/foru...orum/43438.htm
I recently purchased a Gruen Veri-Thin rose gold in excellent condition from a friend of mine who owns a jewelery store here in Cincinnati. The watch has the name JJ Longacre , M.D. July 26 1946 engraved on the back. I did some research after purchasing and found that Dr. Longacre was a very well known physician/surgeon who practiced here in Cincinnati and also served as a Army Surgeon during WWII. I also found out that he was married to Margaret Gruen Longacre, the daughter of Frederick Gruen, co-founder of the Gruen Watch Company. It appears the watch was sold in an estate sale when Dr. and Mrs. Longacre's son, Frederick (named after his maternal grandfather) passed away in 2010. Dr. Longacre passed away in June of 1976, 3 months after his wife passed away. I read that Dr. and Mrs. Longacre were inseparable, traveled the world together, and led a happy and loving life. I am proud to own this piece of Longacre/Gruen history and will take very good care of this watch.Just thought so
Here's a cool copper dial for an old Basis chronograph that I saved from a box of junk a few weeks ago. Been sitting on my desk so thought I'd share some pics:
Thanks to our friend Stonedcl aka Matt, and his relentless pursuit of his grail, I was able to join the happy ranks of AP owners with this Royal Oak Moonphase:ImageUploadedByTapatalk1361922591.337739.jpgNow, my Nautilus has company! A cousin on the Genta-side of the family. Now we just need to find Uncle IWC Ingenieur SL and we can have a family reunion!
When I first saw APs on forums and on line, they really didn't appeal to me. But over the past 3-4 months I have been spending more time in the AP section than the Rolex section here on the ROLEX forum. I don't even have an AP yet, but I'm gravitating more and more towards the AP brand than Rolex or any other brand. 6-12 months ago, they did nothing for me and now I am enthralled by the AP brand. so My question, has anyone come full circle going from having no interest in a brand like AP, to being completely crazy for that brand???I still plan to make my next purchase of a PAM 312, but hopefully early next year I can get my self a Diver on a bracelet!
