Longines L8.113.5.87.6 wrist watches news:
A coworker has a buddy into watches who's trying to generate some cash. He has an old Seamaster he wants to trade for my recent bumper. Condition will tell us how much difference I will kick in, and naturally we both know it's contingent on our own watchmakers taking a look under the hood. It's a late 50's model with the full auto movement. I don't have all the details yet as this is still being kicked around. I can ask my watchmaker, but I'd like some pointers from this forum. What should I look for besides the normal cosmetic condition? I know the basics (Logo on the crown, swiss made at the bottom under the minute indicators, raised dial logo and proper font of the text) but a few picks of yours from that era would be helpful....and any excuse to post pics is a good one! Thanks,Dennis
With an almost unprecedented history in the field of horology that Breitling have constantly aspired to specialise in, the chronograph, it is amazing that this 126 year old brand has taken this long to catalogue it¡¯s history in such a wonderful medium as this impressively detailed book. However, I have a theory about this: The final chapter in this 336 page slab of high quality paper is entitled ¡°A movement for the future¡±. This, of course, refers to the B01 movement of which five years of development came to fruition last year when the exquisite timepiece of the same name was released. Breitling are justifiably proud of this achievement. This is a major evolution of this historically rich manufacture. I guess I would have waited as well.My first impression of this, quite literally, weighty tome is one of exceptional quality and design. The attention to detail is meticulous, the materials are of the highest quality and you are left knowing you are handling something special which has h
Hey everyone,I'm new to omega and I'm really only familiar with the speedmaster. I tried on an blue dial AT8500 and really liked it. I went on the website and saw the AT daydate and liked that even more. Does anyone own one and what are your thoughts on the watch? I love love to see some pics if you have them.
Hi all, I've just noticed that if I don't smoothly and quickly depress the first plunger, the stop watch hand jumps out to the five second mark and then runs normally. Has anyone else noticed that? Do I have an issue on my hands. I really hope not because this watch was away at the spa for many months getting serviced when there was some moisture under the crystal. Appreciate any advice / opinion. Thanks.
I'm curious... after deciding on the exact watch you wanted, how long did you wait until you purchased it? Did you already have the money set aside or did your savings begin at that point? Was it for a special occasion or just because?I'll start:1) By the time I take possession of my watch, it will be about 2 1/2 years from the time I first decided I had to have it until the time that I'm wearing it. 2) I didn't have the money set aside and started a special savings fund for it once I decided on the model I wanted (my avatar - 178341 chocolate dial with scattered diamond bezel and oyster bracelet).3) Long story short, my 43rd birthday has very special significance and I'm gifting it to myself for that occasion (this November).
