Patrizzi & Co. Geneva Auction Brings Over $6.2 Million
In the month leading up to the Patrizzi & Co. auction on October 25, more than 3,500 people visited the house’s web site each day to research items included in the sale. On sale day in Geneva, about 60 bidders were present in the auction room and another 45 participated online. 70% of the 253 lots were sold in two sessions, achieving CHF6,345,600 or about $6,230,525. Bidders from Asia, the Middle East, Europe and the USA were present in the auction room. The top selling brands were Patek Philippe, Cartier, Rolex, and Panerai. Modern pieces from Ulysse Nardin and TAG Heuer also sold very well. Milgauss serial number differences?
I recently had my Milgauss GV replaced and noticed that there is a significant change in serial number. I was wondering if anyone has insight into the change in series.. The original was #V84xxxx the new one is #4P6xxxxx. My eyes might be deceiving me, but I think the "green" of the new crystal is slightly lighter. Thanks

If there was a group of dials that came out a little different for a particular model, people would go crazy trlying to buy one for the rarity, so it's critical that the dials are exactly alike."

TransOcean Limited Edition - A Report
The Breitling TransOcean Limited Edition is the third watch to incorporate the brilliant in-house Calibre 01 movement. The first two timepieces that were driven by this movement were the B01 and the Navitimer 01. Both of these models are available in Limited Editions of 2000 in Stainless Steel, 200 in Rose Gold and a standard non-LE version. B01 Navitimer 01 As can be seen from the above images the designs were taken from existing models, the Chronomat and Navitimer respectively, and given slight design tweaks. These were two existing flagship models for Breitling and it made perfect sense to announce the arrival of their brand new in-house movement with these two models. This is the first AP I bought. I read on line about an Arnold Schwarzenegger fundraiser auction held in New York to benefit inner city schools. Arnold contacted celebrities who picked their favorite AP model. AP customized each watch with an engraving of the celebrity's signature. I was thinking how cool it would have been to attend that event when I saw an on line ad for one of the watches. It was selected by the California singer Brian Wilson. I bought it. Then I got an email from Al Armstrong of Armstrong Rockwell asking to buy it from me. That's how I met Al. He was kind enough to send me CDs of Beach Boys albums to go with the watch!Jules Audemars chronograph that I like for its globular shape--sort of like a tiny gold pillow or pincushion. Surfs up!
