Elgiin Model 190 p.w. Best?
I have many good Elgins. I believe the best (not most valuable) is their 12 size Model 190. It was highest cost of all Elgins of any size in 1915 catalog copy. 23j sometimes marked Lord Elgin. Some made with poised pallet, mustach lever. Superior accuracy but too small for rr. Made for 20+ years but not in the usual Elgin high volume so not common especially in 18k hunter case. Wanted to show how nice the mvnt. finish is but not too successful.

Display Backs on Divers
Any issues with the display backs on the Planet Ocean? I'm actully thinking about the 300 Master, but it hasn't been out as long. I've never understood the desire to add another point of failure with regards to case integrity, but perhaps it's unjustified. How do you think divers with display backs will hold up in 20 years or so? Do they re-seal the crystal when the watch is serviced? Jeremy

So much for discontinuing the famed & beautiful Smurf. Part of me wishes it was discontinued so that I would own something even more special! It is nice to see the reference continue to be displayed on the Rolex site though.

Apparently ADs ate now told by Rolex not to verify the authenticity of watches Right couple of Charlies in goldsmiths nottingham (steer clear)My friend has recently bought a 1992 yachtmaster yellow gold online and with no crown on the glass and less than 2.5% mag on the date window we took a trip in to ask their opinion!Empty shop No sports models on offerWe told the woman in there that it had been bought online and wondered if they wouldn¡¯t mind having a look at it....met with the ARROGANCE of a MANU fan from the late 1990s¡°You should NEVER buy on line because the ONLY way to 100% verify is to send to rolex....even companies like watchfinder can¡¯t verify watches properly . Only buy from an AD....She took out an eyeglass and looked at it in a ¡®id just LOVE to tell you it¡¯s fake¡¯ kinda way and said that it¡¯s against rolex policy to tell if it¡¯s real or notBloke said there was no way of verifying without sending off....I said ¡°so you¡¯re telling me that if I came in here with my sub to se
