- Bought this for my son and it was a hit! Just enough features, but not loaded down with extra silly buttons. Very handsome and looks great on a man.

Maurice Lacroix MP6907-PG101-113 wrist watches news:
Ever since the smartwatch became a thing, I have been preaching that companies need to pool their resources and talents to create something that consumers want. A new type of smartwatch platform called MMT (Manufacture Modules Technologies) was just announced out of partnership between a series of companies both in Switzerland and in Silicon Valley. This isn't a big deal just because it means the small but crowded smartwatch market has a new face, but because, in my opinion, it represents a wise step in the right direction of how the Swiss luxury watch industry needs to integrate itself into the smartwatch world. Welcome to the MMT electronic watch movement family and the Horological Smartwatch.Peter Stas, CEO of Fr¨¦d¨¦rique Constant / Alpina, wearing the Fr¨¦d¨¦rique Constant Horological Smartwatch Reference FC-285V5B4Who is behind MMT? I have a Seiko 4336-8019 with the battery hatch in a snapon case back. It appears at the last battery change that the hatch was forced on 180d from where the arrows indicate. Now I can turn it in a 90d range but at no point does it want to pop off. I think this is some kind of bayonet mount and not a screw in.So, I tried using a case knife like this, to try and remove the entire back but apparently I can't find the knack of it either on this 4336-8019, or with a 6F22-7009 moon phase watch with a very smooth case back. I think I see the slight indentations on both cases at 3 o'clock. Maybe because my case knife is a cheapie, the blade isn't "sharp" enough to fit in the spot. Any advice on how to use this tool or how to deal with the off-phase battery hatch would be appreciated.
One of my vintage watches is acting oddly. I've tested it for accuracy 4 times, and 1 time it did great for more than 24 hours. The other times, the hour and minute hands stopped after a few hours, while the second hand continued. I suppose it could be a coincidence, but each time it stopped with the minute hand on the 4, or 20 minute mark. The hour hand was on the 7 once, the 8 another time, and I don't recall where it was the other time.Any ideas? Obviously I'm going to take it in for service, but I thought I'd see if I could get any insight here before doing so.It's a Wittnauer with a linen textured dial and a subdial for the seconds.
Here is my Vintage Patek ref #2532. 2012-07-13 12.02.41.jpg2012-07-13 12.05.41.jpgI offered it as a trade in towards a ref# 5035 but they only offered me $4,500 so I decided to keep it.I am thinking of having it restored. As you can see, after 60 yrs, the bezel has corroded and needs replacement. BUT my real question is the dial.As you can see, the dial has oxidized and assumed a tan or brown patina. Other 2532s I have seen have white dials.Do you think the dial was once white but has oxidized? Will replacing the dial make it less valuable? Am I nuts for investing the money?I am actually a Rolex man, but the more I wear this watch, the more I like it.THANKS in advance.
it had been my understanding that his favorite watch (seen him on interviews wearing it) was a Rolex. Turns out its a Patek (high complications) given by a former US President during WWII. Interesting read:.hodinkee/blog/2010/7/...-patek-ph.htmlAnd no, I did not confuse a Rolex w a Patek, he does wear a Rolex at times. But who could blame him, right?
