15202 vs FP Journe Chronometre Bleu
Hi all. Looking to get an opinion, as I am in the market for my next watch, and I have it narrowed down to the two in the title - AP 15202 vs FP Journe Chromometre Bleu. I wanted to go straight to the AP forum, since I know you all have strong opinions, and since FP Journe is my front runner I want to give the other side as much of an opportunity as possible.While I have a BLNR and Speedy Pro for every day wear, I am looking for a weekend watch, essentially. These two watches just feel *special* when you put them on. They can be dressed up or down, both have the blue dial, both are icons of sort (obviously the 15202 is a true icon and the Chrono Bleu is a newer icon of a modern manufacturer), are around the same price point ($22k for the 15202 vs $20 for the Chrono Bleu), etc. However, both are very different watches - one is very geometric in shape, has the date window, and is worn on a bracelet. The other is very fluid and quirky, has no date window, and is worn on a strap. However,

Patek 5164A: Day/Night Indicator
Hi folks,I would like to check with current Patek 5164A owners, does your Day/Night indicator change colour (e.g from white to dark blue or vice versa) exactly at 6am/6pm?My new Patek 5164A seems to only start changing the colour of the Day/Night indicator starting from around 6am/6pm. The process would take about an hour or so to completely change the colour in the Day/Night indicator (e.g from white to dark blue or vice versa). Is this normal?In the Patek owner's manual, it only states the following:The day/night indicator in the round aperture at 3 o¡¯clock (HOME) lets you check whether you have set the correct time (white stands for the daylight hours from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., black for the night time hours from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.).Hope current owners can help to shed some light on this and this is my first Patek watch. Patek or Audemars?? Decisions...decisions!!
First, let me start by saying, this is NOT a which watch is better post. Obviously, the best is very subjective and very personalized to ones taste. Instead, I am just curious as to which piece you would purchase if you were to chose between only these two watches.The first is the classic Patek Phillipe Calatrava. This is no doubt a classic and an icon. Unbelievable craftsmanship and a piece that will certainly be passed down from generations to generations.The second choice is equally impressive. This is the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak in Rose Gold. This piece is unmistakable and is pure luxury. The fit and finish on the AP is near perfect and the presence on the wrist is second to none. This is equally an heirloom that will be passed from generation to generation in a family.So, which would you chose?
