Maurice Lacroix LC7008-SS001-330 wrist watches news:
Almost exactly two years ago I had the opportunity to review the Orient Bambino FER24004B. The watch left me somewhat stunned. It was gorgeous, unique (especially in the price range) and remarkably affordable. Heck, it's one of the few watches out there that is down right cheap (in a good way), coming in at less than your average quartz and offering a whole lot more. Every angle was attractive, the overall style was spot on retro-goodness and both the build and finishing were respectable. For a watch that after using a coupon comes to $182, it was unbeatable. The watch's popularity and oft-sold out state confirmed this.2 years later, i am getting a second chance to review the Bambino… or re-review it if you will, and I'm quite excited about it. In the 2 years between, I've seen countless watches, some good, some great, some not so much. So the question in my head, before the watch arrived, was simply, will I still feel the same way about it 2 years later… The short answer i
Many thanks to my good buddy Chip who correctly pointed out that I neglected to include the GMT/ExpII when I talked about the complications which Rolex manufactures in my recent Day-Date review (that'll teach me to answer the phone while I'm writing in mid-sentence). It's nice to know I've got editors out there who will keep me on my toes!Chip - glad to know you're still such a loyal fan of my work!
Does it get any better than to see Elvis with one of his Rolex's?Here he is in 1968 sporting a white gold Daytona on a wide military strap.Again, another great find from Jake's Rolex Watch Blog.
2 watches arrive! Only opening one today.
I read somewhere that Paul Newman wore a bund with his Daytona. These watchstraps were originally designed for German fighter pilots during WW2. I've seen Alton Brown on 'Good Eats' wearing one but in general, they aren't all that common. The design is wide around the watch and narrows down to ordinary watch strap width towards the buckle. Like NATOs, the bund seems to look better with sport watches rather than the more dressier models.Curious if anyone has here wears these as an alternative strap/fashion statement.
