Back home from vacation...
We returned home to Japan a few days ago and though I've remained on vacation, I haven't had much time to prepare any sort of trip report; but I woke up at 3 am this morning (jet lag), so here are a few photos. We were using the video camera most of the time; so we really didn't get many photos. I managed to visit a few ADs and one of my favorite "grey market" dealers in Portland. I repeatedly heard from the ADs (consider the source) that the Sub LV will be discontinued soon; with one AD adding confidently that the production run for anniversary models is only 5 years.In one large AD in Portland, the first thing the gentleman behind the counter told me as I entered the store was that it marked the first time he had ever seen anyone in real life wearing the particular 116528 I was wearing. Hi i'm looking to purchase my first vintage piece and I want a classic dive watch for a budget of up to USD1000 with less being better if possibleIt doesn't have to be something with an amazing brand or history i just want something that's a bit different and a good solid watch (maybe a brand that is no longer around would fit well as this would be different)...I want a classic divers look like all the classics but something you wouldn't expect to see often.Any suggestions on what to look out for and pointers to get me going in the right direction within the budget?Thanks!

Lunch time purchase, Omega Planet Ocean 42mm...
So instead of having a meal like all human beings I scooted over to my retailer to pick this up.Case size is just right at 42mm, and I opted for the one with the orange numerals. Felt the 45mm version a bit too huge for me after trying it on.Case thickness is quite obvious when worn, and the clear caseback is nice to have but not essential for myself.Thanks for reading, fellas! 😄My usual wrist pic...

I'm an avid collector of VC, JLC and vintage Heuers. I haven't made the plunge yet to PP. But for my first PP I'd like to buy one for my wife. There are two styles she was interested in. She likes all rose gold, but those can be pricey. But also she needs a daily wearer. So I was thinking starting her off in an Aquanut 5067....any other thoughts?Any other nice lady's selections?Sent from my 16M
