- Beautiful watch face, loved the tortoise. But, the band with the gold edging looked very manly. I exchanged for a watch with a total tortoise band, love it. I wish the new watch had the fancier face, oh well.

I suppose this has come up before, but I can't seem to uncover the discussion via a forum search, and a post on the IWC Forum yielded no answers.I understand that possibly WWI silver "British" trench watches with movements signed "SS&Co." are Stauffer, Sons & Co., and that this company had a relationship with IWC in the first 15 or so years of the 20th Century, where IWC supplied SS&Co. with movements. The SS&Co signing was usually (often?) accompanied by a device of 3 triangles. I also understand that SS&Co also occasionally signed similar watch movements with "S&Co" or possibly it was a related company, but still the Stauffer people. Any of this ring a bell with anybody? I read one entry in a Google search of the subject that says SS&Co with the 3 triangle device are not IWC, but he doesn't say if that means the movement is good or if it's junk. I couldn't find anything further on this.
Have a look:watchtalkforums.info/foru...715#post288715I'm liking November almost as much as July!
