Longines has been a Value Proposition favorite for very good reasons: thanks to their history, they have a pretty fantastic repertoire of great designs and historically important watches on which to draw, and the Heritage Longines watches are such an inexhaustible supply of great looking, reasonably priced vintage watches that I’ve often been tempted to just do the whole collection in one go and save you the trouble of reading a dozen different stories. However, sometimes a watch really is worth a stand-alone look-see, and the Heritage Military COSD is one of them. 1 OF 8 The short version of the story is that the Military COSD is based on a watch issued to the British military – in particular, paratroopers – during the Second World War. As such it looks to have been a very, very straightforward timepiece, designed for two objectives: economy, and sturdiness. Hi. I don't know where to start so I'll just start from the beginning. About 10 years ago I bought the watch titled above from what I thought was a reputable home shopping channel at the time. They were known at the time as Valuevision but have been purchased for some time now as ShopNBC, which continues to this day. Well, a couple of years ago I was doing some research about the brand and noticed a lot of sellers use the term "manufacturers serial numbers intact". So guess what I find when I look for my serial numbers? That's right, they've been removed. Not only was I stunned and shocked but I was more than a little angry. I was the victim of a grey market watch from a shopping channel. My question is this, does my watch have any resale value? It's never been worn and is still in the original box with papers. Any commentary or insight would surely be appreciated. Thanks.
Hello I was blessed enough to be able to purchase one of these fine rare (130) made in the 19j movement. Has the factory (979-F) movement. Not sure bt I was thinking of keeping it. But then again Im sure theres a collector our there that would love to have it. My watch guys been around watches for 40 years and has never seen one. What do yawl think it would bring? It runs good. Will try to add a photo if it will allow me to. All feedback would be awesome. In my 2006 Watch book it says 2k-4k and again that is 5 years ago. Markets soft on everything. Figure its rare enough to fetch some money on e-bay. thought on starting it at $.99 and let her run. For some reason it wont allow me to add photos.
I guess there's not much to add to that!
