Any way to trade a BNIB IWC?
Hi all -I received a black dial IWC Portuguese Auto as a gift from the parents who purchased the watch from an AD while they were on vacation outside the US. Unfortunately, I really wanted the silver dial, and there's no way for me to exchange it with the store from which it was purchased at this point. While I am certainly grateful, does anyone have any ideas how I can do some sort of exchange for the silver dial? I've posted on the appropriate subfora of timezone and watchnet seeking a trade, but not too hopeful. I'm wondering if there is anything else i can do at this point perhaps with more local IWC ADs. The watch is BNIB with hang tag still attached, and I have held off wearing the watch in the event I can exchange it. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Don't get me wrong, the black is wonderful too, but I do like the silver dial a bit more.

I've been wanting to ask this question for a while but felt a little stupid asking it you'll see why, Here it goes I know in 1953 a Gentleman by the name of Max Hetzel developed the first tuning fork system which you know has the watch run on an electronic movement letting the second hand smoothly sweep rather than tick, But than in 1977 a Gentleman in Japan sorry don't know is name created the spring drive system if you look at both movements in action you'll notice they almost work similar I.E. both allow the second hand to sweep smoothly across the dial. So my question is do you think Seiko got the idea from Bulova or I'm I just a little nut's to think this.

The small chain is identical to a modern bicycle chain and was manufactured most by children due to the size. Yeah, it's 2017. After one year abstinence , the new watch itch is back in full force like never before. Now thinking about this... seriously. The Titanium Schumacher. My usual deliberation analysis ...Positives(+) Really nice detailing and finishing(+) the Cermet bezel (+) Good Resale Value(+) Titanium is light so comfortable enough for prolong, daily wearingNegatives(-) Too grey? Monotone? (-) So sporty it's only for casual wear (-) I already have 5 APs! (-) Not available brand new anymore or with warranty, so risk of repair/service cost? BTW, I don't think the RG Schumi is that much nicer than my RG44 (at least not 2X nicer ) while the PT Schumi is obviously the nicest of the three of course but also unwearable for me due to the weight. So the natural choice is Ti. One thought though lingering in my mind. It does seems that most people ( at least those in AP sub-forum ) and those I know that used to own this watch end up not keeping it. Wonder why... Alternatives : The Patek 50
