With our Baselworld 2016 coverage coming to an end (there still might be a couple of pieces left to write) we figured we'd sum up the event with one of our Round-Tables. The question is simple: "What were your most and least favorite pieces from Baselworld this year?” Looking back, I'm actually very impressed by this year's offering. At Basel, it felt a little slower and quieter than previous years, but the brands that we like almost all had a few very strong pieces. Of course, they can't all be winners, but keep in mind the answers below are purely our subjective opinions on the watches and not "reviews" of them. Count me in the "New Watch In July Club" too! I've admired the Ball watches since learning about them a couple years ago & have wanted to add one ever since. I've been hunting for the right one to be my first, and hadn't quite found the one.Then last year, Ball introduced the Aviator. Quite a watch - that's perfect for what I want & has everything!! Oops - wait, no bracelet The bracelet issue was a deal-killer for me as I don't like to wear leather straps in the summer and I couldn't find an after market bracelet to do the watch justice. So I waited. It was a hard wait as there were many times, especially once the cooler months of winter arrived, that I was very tempted to buy it anyways. Then this year the Aviator Dual-Time was introduced, and on a bracelet!!!! My patience had finally paid off!! Hi,I don't know if I will get the answer to my question here or if I should post this elsewhere-well here goesI live in Portland Maine and have just bourght a new-old stock Hamilton Bradford-it has never been used or even wound! The options up here are a bit lacking but Boston is not far away! Early incoming
So this is nothing close to the awesome incomings I¡¯ve seen on here, especially the epic grand complication recently, however it means quite a bit to me as it is my first Patek. I¡¯ve been hoping to acquire a Patek for a long time and it is perfect timing that I would finally receive one on my birthday of all days. I placed an order with my longtime AD back in June and was told to expect the watch around Christmas. To my great surprise I got a text at the end of last week with a picture of the sealed watch saying it¡¯s ready for pick up. Received the watch yesterday and man, it does not disappoint. I¡¯ve had watches from many other manufacturers and it was quite a special moment to put on my first Patek. Thanks to the forum for providing great insight and photos on this crazy passion of ours. Hi TRF,What is the smallest wrist that can handle 5980?My wrist is 6.1-6.2. Do you think I can wear it?Also I worry about what is the smallest size of bracelet can be adjusted?Please advice.Thank you.
