Maurice Lacroix MI1018-PVP13130 wrist watches news:
The Wall Street Journal Online is reporting that Cartier filed a lawsuit against Apple Inc. in Manhattan on Friday claiming that a third-party iPhone app available from Apple’s App Store infringed Cartier’s trademarked designs. The app, called Fake Watch, displayed well-known watch designs on the iPhone screen. Apple quickly removed the app from their store and issued an apology, and shortly thereafter a Cartier attorney announced that the lawsuit would be withdrawn, saying that Cartier’s concerns had been addressed.
I recently had the pleasure of visiting IWC's headquarters in Schaffhausen (with a lucky reader) for a tour of the 146-year-old brand's manufacture and museum. The attention to detail and efficient workflow within the manufacture was mesmerizing, in addition to the dizzying array of high-tech machinery used to produce the modern watches. Well, the checkered black and white flags used for starting and ending the race were similar to some of the engravings on my 178:But wouldn't you know I was wearing this one instead during the flick!
Finally, watch winders start to become objects of art in their own right.Today, I was shown the OilBaron from the German manufacturer OriginTimes. Another original approach to watch winders is taken by my fellow countryman Bernard Favre from Neuchatel. I simply love to watch them turn and turn. If you are asking for the price you are unable to afford it¡¡.
From the History and Evolution of the Wristwatch by JE Brazelman:Less than 100 years ago, no self-respecting gentleman would be caught dead wearing a wristwatch. In those days of yore, real men carried pocket watches, with a gold half-hunter being the preferred status symbol of the time¡ªno pun intended.
