Omega 3810.12.06 wrist watches news:
This ABSOLUTELY insane piece arrived in today's mail! This is a 4 piece SIZE 0s Oresilver Fahys Trench Watch Case that has the snap on shrapnel guard ! ! ! ! !I have NEVER seen one of these in a size 0s, I thought that they only made these in the smaller size 3/0s. The case is HUGE ! ! ! It measures 36mm across ! ! !I have been dealing in American military watches for awhile now and I haven't ever heard of a reference to one of these being a SIZE 0s ! ! ! I did not know that such a case existed ! ! ! This is my Holy Grail ! ! !Somebody over the years cut one of the lugs off but this can be repaired for about $50.00 and the other lug can be bent back into it's proper shape. I have taken several pictures showing how it is assembled. When it arrived it had a wrong Swiss movement inside that was the wrong size as well so I am going to put it back as close to original as possible using a time period correct American size 0s Elgin movement and military dial. Give me a month or so and it will
I would really appreciate if someone could identify this watch for me (maybe a reference number?)See attached file for photoThx in advance !
Anyone know if the Hamilton Mt. Vernon takes a standard strap? I haven't been able to find any photos on the 'net that show the back side, and the lugs can't really be seen from the front. It looks like it takes a regular strap and there is a piece of the case that overhangs part of the strap, but I can't be sure from the photos i've seen.
Hi, it would be great to hear from any owners' experiences of the 25860ST regarding durability. This would be my first AP.I am right handed and also wear my watch on the right wrist so it gets some knocks. Whilst I am not so concerned with scratches as these become part of the watch's history, I would be happy to hear about the inner workings standing up to all round wear.As a bench mark for comps I rotate between sport watches from Rolex, IWC and Patek.Thank you in advance
So I would appreciate some wisdom.......I found this forum as I am an avid Patek wearer/collector; I have a Calatrava, Aquanaut, Nautilus and a Grand Complication now. As much as I love these watches, I feel I have finished the Patek collection and I do not know of any other Patek I really need to add. What I have developed a yearning for is to add a Rolex as my fifth mega watch, and then I ought to be very happy. My instinct is I would like something gold, and - if I may say so - a little blingy. The Patek watches are all relatively small and low-key and I certainly have no gold at all. With that in mind, and given I really know nothing of note about the Rolex range (I did have a vintage Datejust once but that was a very simple albeit elegant watch) any recommendations? Budget I guess - in GBP - would be up to say ¡ê30,000 or so.Grateful for any ideas/pointers.
