Those cheeky bastards over at Seiko, how they tease me. Long after the Seiko Spring Drive Spacewalk watch is announced to be sold publicly, they finally do so, and the price is a whopping $28,000. OK, so lets go back a second. While this article is being written before the Antiquroum auction on September 24th when the Seiko Spring Drive Spacewalk watch that Richard Garriot wore in space is being?? sold-off - by the time you read this the auction will have occurred and we will know just how much the watch went for. I have no idea what the price will be, but I think it will be around what this new edition of the watch will cost retail. Post WWI Solid Gold Elgin Trench Watch w/ a Coin Edge Bezel, NICE ! ! !
Hey guys ! ! !I just finished up with this one and got it all back together a few hours ago.I few things REALLY make this Elgin stand out from the rest.1. 9k solid gold trench style case that is post WWI.2. It has a coin edge bezel, these are rather hard to come by.3. November 1921 date stamped dial.4. The original RED 12 Elgin dial has a "Made in England" stamp.It was quite unfortunate that the original dial had sustained so much damage over the past 90 such as two broken dial feet, a big chip missing and several deep hairline cracks.The dial was quite rare, it actually has a "Made in England" stamp on the back side, I have only seen one other like this before that had this stamp.Some things just can't be saved ! ! ! Just wanted to stop by and introduce myself. David from Memphis TN.I've been reading over the different post here for a week or two now and decided to sign up and say thanks.....thanks for all the interesting information everyone has shared.I would'nt call my self a watch collector, I only have five and none very expensive. I have a Citizen Eco drive, three Nike sport watches a couple are pretty cool but not what I think a serious watch enthusiast would get excited about, a couple weeks ago I picked up a Swiss Army, base camp model, (my current favorite).Not sure why watches interest me, the inner workings are all foriegn to me, I just look at a watch and like the way it looks or not, but I'm finding the more I read here the more I'm becoming interested in "quality" watches as oppossed to "fashion type watches" I find myself leaning towards cleaner lines, less digital Hi tech watches that I can sinc into to my iphone, and such.I've been an avid collector and smoker of fine cigars for y
