.....while you may factor in pre-loved, do you consider vintage too?A number of members here collect vintage, Sam, Keiron and Gee Jaay for instance have a wealth of styles in their respective collections. Some of us have watches purchased from some way back. Had I not been relieved of it, I would still have my old gold Connie which was a graduation gift from my parents. That apart, I've never had an inkling to go vintage.There is one exception of course - The Speedy Pro. However with the Speedy Pro, the primary appearance has not altered with the exception of the early CK models and of course the pre-moon models with the applied Omega logo. I wish Omega had retained the applied logo on all the Speedy Pros. It was on the Gemini !V so why not say a 3573.50 as well?I have given much thought to acquiring older Speedies. Looking to invest in my first watch.
Hey so I'm brand new here. Ever since I was a young kid, I always wanted a nice watch! Well I'm now able to afford a decent watch, the problem is they're so many to choose from, I really don't even know where to start.I'm looking to set aside about 1000-1500$ for a nice watch. But I really don't know anything about watches to begin with! I want a dress watch, one that will stand out as a nice watch. One that I could look at and be proud of.I'm open to any and all suggestions, at this point I really don't know if I want a gold, quartz, silver, or leather strapped watch. So any good suggestions around my price range would be appreciated. Mainly I'm just looking for something of considerable quality, one which will retain it's value, of course I'm looking for something I will keep for life and pass down one day.Also, does anybody have any good links, or books that I might read about starting watch collecting? Benefits of buying from AP Boutique
In all likelihood, my next watch will be the AP 15400 Blue faced boutique-only edition. I was in the NYC Boutique this weekend with the wife trying it on, and speaking with the sales associate. Even though I think that the boutique is my only option for buying, he tried to sell me on the benefits of it anyway. He noted the 5 year - instead of standard 2 year - warranty, as well as their concierge service. Obviously the 5 year warranty is awesome, but does anyone actually use the concierge service? Are there any other benefits other than the free swag I've seen posted here before?
