Maurice Lacroix PT6247-SD501-150 wrist watches news:
I read here about the disappointing selling values of nice old pocket watches. Reminds me of 1960 when my wife worked in an old small town bank that was clearing its vault of silver dollars. No longer in demand for users like the watches. So we bought for $1. each a bunch of new from the mint selected for condition and rarity. I got an initial collection of 70 different plus a tire chain bag full I left in my car while moving to a new job location. This was not an inside deal others had same opportunity there. I still have the original collection, but wanted a very fine Swiss bells and drum big cylinder music box that I later sold for 10+ times the cost years ago. It was paid for from many of the dollars in the chain bag turned in at another bank for $1. each. I still have many of the rare date ones, however.See the comparison? Nobody wanted the common clumsy silver dollars at that time. Even the rare ones were cheap. Today even the common ones get a premium above intrinsic value and
I wanted to start a thread that was watch-related, educational, and entertaining. I'd just found out this morning that I'm nearly at 500 posts. I also just found out, reaching that number will give me the distinction and honor of becoming a WTF Veteran. I've wanted my posts to count for something important here, always have, and learning/sharing has always been of the utmost importance to me. Giving it some thought, and after the infamous 2 and 3 word threads, I thought this would be appropriate for WTF and meet these criteria. This should be interesting, and there are many watch brands I¡¯d never even heard of before coming here. I hope this works and that many members participate and enjoy it. I'm hoping to learn something here, too.OK, here goesUsing the English alphabet; from A to Z [a,b,c,d and so on], post a single word or term that has to do with watches. Today I have found out that my ROO grey theme has stopped running even though it has been on winder.I took it out and winded it 50 times. It started running and I played around with the chrono. It stopped around 10secs. I tried again and this time it stopped around 45secs. I tried the 3rd time and it stopped around 4mins.I just tried the 4th time and it is now 30mins and still running.Whenever it stopped, the second hand also stopped! Has anyone encountered this problem before? I am quite reluctant to send in for 3-4 weeks as this watch is only one month old..Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
