SIHH: Something (Really) Big From Panerai: Mare Nostrom 52mm Special Edition
Mare Nostrum is the chronograph that Officine Panerai supplied to the Italian Navy in 1943. Very few prototypes were produced ¨C almost certainly three in total ¨C of which first all trace, and then all relative documentation, was lost following the flood that hit Florence in 1966. Panerai’s discovery of one of the prototypes – now part of the collections at the Officine Panerai Museum in Florence – enabled creation of a new Mare Nostrum in a single edition of just 99 examples that reproduce the original almost exactly, with a few improvements. This new edition measures 52mm in diameter and, unlike the original, it offers a sapphire display back. The case is actually tonneau shaped, but looks round due to the wide, flat bezel. Hey there:I have continued to press on in my goal to introduce my family and friends to the world of automatic watches. Well, then comes my sweet cousin Frannie. She's so picky about watches, and breaks them all, seriously, really a wackadoo sometimes....but I love her to pieces....So I decided to introduce her to the world of auto watches...since I blessed her husband (very recently) with a Seiko SKXA33. Well, I happened into a jewelry store in my neighborhood, poked around, and found a Seiko SUAG83K S-Wave Ladies Auto (green). What's inside your watch ?
I have always liked watches but always chose on looks, if it appealed to me I bought it regardless of brand. My grandfathers watch which was his 45 year gift from the company he worked for when he retired was always something special to look at, it was a gold Longines. I used to love trying it on, the only time this watch ever stopped was when my grandfather passed away. It is now in a drawer in an envelope in my fathers home and I have not seen it taken out in maybe 30 years and never worn. So for me as a kid growing up in the late 60's and early 70's it was Timex and then later on I came across my first love, my father had met this agent from Ricoh watches and he allowed us have a watch each for ¡ê10. God knows where it is now. After that I just trickled along choosing on looks never price, all sorts of cheap digital watches came and went. Vintage Forum?
I know we have a vintage forum for Rolex, but what about just a general one? Put some info in it as to what to look for and what not to look for, some members special finds, restorations, etc. I am very interested in vintage watches, but have absolutly no idea about them as far as which brands & movements are desired, and stuff like that. Just an idea, what do you guys think? Enough interest? Since you seem to be one of if not the main vintage guy on the forums what do you think ulackfocus?

Changing to leather on a 5726
I'm considering purchasing a 5726 on a bracelet and was wondering if anyone knows if it is possible to change the bracelet to a leather strap, if I want to change things up every once and awhile. Tried to do some searching on this topic, but have had no success so far. Any help would be much appreciated.
