Today I was given my grandfathers retirement watch. It was presented to him in 1970 for his retirement. As a child I aways was drawn to this watch, my grandfather always wore it 24 hours a day, yes he slept with it on too, something I could never do, but I always remember going over to him and turning his wrist just so I could see it, some times he would let me try it on I was maybe 5 or 6 years of age and this watch felt huge but still to me it was the most the most special thing ever. After my grandfather passed away the watch was presented to my younger brother but he refused to take it and it has sat in my a drawer in my fathers home for over 20 years. I asked my father if I could have it, but even though it belonged to my brother I still needed his permission. So today I was finally handed something that I have ogled for 40 years. To some this watch may not seem much, but I do not believe any watch that I will ever get will have as much importance to me as this one, it's my dream

Bought my first Grand Seiko about two years ago (SBGE001 from the Bay) and that was the start of a pleasant journey.Got a few modern ones since then (some new, some used) and earlier this year the broad spectrum of vintage GS' started calling me.Would still like to put my hands on a 3180, a 4522 and a 4580 or 6186 VFA.Below is my GS collection as it looks today. It's difficult to tell in the photos, but it has the fantastic blue strap also used on the 5235G.Unfortunately some of my other (non-Patek) pieces have bitten the dust, but I have absolutely no regrets!

Rolex service time
Hi Guys,Just got a new Daytona OF last year. Had it for about a month and watch stopped for no reason. Took it back to my Ad who sent it in for me in Dec. Haven¡¯t got the watch back yet. Lol. Just asked my Ad last week what the issue is and they said I over wind the watch. Any idea what¡¯s normal service time on issues like this. Thanks!
