Been looking at some Oris watches while on holiday
And man, there are some fantastic models out there right now!! I can write about watches until I'm blue in the face (or fingers) but nothing comes close to actually seeing them up close and trying them on - the old 'wrist test'.During my brief watch shopping (well, it was actually quite a few hours, but as with most things, time flies when your having fun) I got to see a lot of the Oris model range, and tried on a couple.Unfortunately, no one seems to have any Team Hunters left, they're all sold, at least where I was looking anyway .But I did get an opportunity to look at, and try on, the amazing RAID Limited Edition chronograph.I know it's an old cliche, but words hardly describe how great this watch looks and feels on the wrist. Perfect size, quality, and fit. I could have easily walked out of the store with it on my wrist, but the price was out of my range for this shopping trip, so back in the display case it went. Not much on Movado
I know that this question has been asked hundreds of times but I wanna hear first hand why Movado isn't a discussed brand. I own a two-tone Movado Museum Watch (model no. 605910) that I got as a gift a while ago, it's not the GREATEST watch I own but it's a nice dressy watch. At first I was turned off by the simple design, and how much you have to pay for just two hands and a dot, but once I received one I decided I'd give it a chance and wore it anytime I had to wear a suit. Weddings, business, whatever. I think it keeps good time and is pretty easy to read. Most of the museum dials are quartz, but there a lot of automatics. And the brand has been around for some 200 years and the Museum Watch is the first watch to be in the Museum of Modern Art (hence the name, Museum watch), which no other brand can say. They're a descent brand who makes some pretty nice watches. And although they're a bit overpriced, they are real nice and (some) are worth the money. So why isn't Movado talked abou

SMP movement
Hi folks,Omega is doing a great job on equipping a lot of their models with the Co-axial 8500 in-house movement, but why didn't they equip the new 300M Seamaster professional with the cal.8500?They gave the model a new ceremic bezel and black or blue lacquer dial, but they kept the 2500 movement, seems a bit weird to me.

I'm really having trouble liking the latest crop of Omegas.....They are using too much of the skeleton hand that I don't like at all, and the Aqua Terra hands, which I like, are creeping upward in cost..It seems they're stretching their specialty line, Olympics, 007, and LE multicolored everythings, all over the map at the expense of their traditional fare..I don't know....I was looking at the offerings to fill an empty spot in the Omega box, and with no good Great White offering or replacement, I'm just not sure which one I might want to get...Usually something just strikes me, and I can see some future merit that justifies purchase.... not right now !!What about you.. ?

Hey gents...I bought my first a couple of months back and got the TT submariner in blue out the door 12K no tax at an authorized dealer in Beverly Hills. I think that was a pretty good deal. I loved that sub and was wearing it daily and realized I needed a stainless steel for my everyday wearer as the gold gets some nice scratches.I love the SS Yachtmaster 2. Such a great everyday piece. The price tag made me gasp though. It's a little crazy, but then again that is why not everyone has a YM2. So I just picked up the SS YM2 at the same authorized dealer in BH and got it for 15.6K out the door no tax which I thought was another great price.Either way I love them and love this forum. Do you guys think I got pretty good pricing? Came to about 20% off after the didn't do the tax by shipping it to a friend....
