Automatic movement question
Does anyone know what, if any, Hamilton models used the Swiss ETA or Certina 665 or 664 automatic movements?From a prior thread on this forum, I read that these are fully jeweled automatic movements, and more likely to have withstood the rigers of use.I'm interested in collecting Hamilton automatic, Thin-O-Matic, and Thin-Line models from the '60's. But I'm concerned about buying a vintage automatic Hamilton that has a problem with the movement.I realize that the most important thing about buying a vintage watch with a reliable movement is assuring the movement has been properly and consistently maintained over the years. But when buying a 40 year old vintage watch, I find it's nearly impossible to know how well the movement has been maintained over the years.thanks

Does anybody has a modern Mido? I'm really been called by the All Dial Linespecially the Moonphase Master Complication and the Chronograph...Any experiences?In the past, Mido was a very well respected brand in my country, and the Commander was a very wanted watch...

The Forged Carbon Diver (Diver Bee). 2.5 Months into ownership (a review)
It¡¯s been roughly two and a half months since I¡¯ve come into owning the Forged Carbon Diver from Audemars Piguet. It¡¯s usually at the two month mark that I feel like I¡¯ve really gotten to know my watches so I¡¯ve become accustomed to thinking about and writing about my pieces critically at this point in my ownership (although I needed the extra two weeks or so to get my ass around to writing). This particular watch, affectionately known as the ¡°Diver Bee¡±, has become a favorite in my collection, and below I will explain why. First, some background: This is actually my second Diver. I purchased my original Stainless Steel Diver in May of 2012. As many on this forum have come to find, it¡¯s a particularly loveable watch. The Diver lineage is one of the finest in the Audemars Piguet family. Its versatility is simply unmatched in my humble belief. My new one
So Mark (mcneguy) got my 41.5mm Aqua Terra but here is its replacement, a 38.5:Same silver Opaline dial and beautiful 8500 movement.I had forgotten that I had ordered an Omega strap which arrived yesterday. Unfortunately, it is a 20mm and the new AT takes a 19mm. I called my dealer who said for me to send it back and he would ship me the correct strap and deployment.With 40mm (39mm?) Rolex models in the collection now, I find myself moving toward smaller watches in general.I'll try to get a wrist shot soon and post a side by side with the 41.5mm.Fr. John?

Changing Strap/Bracelet
Do you need a special tool to change the bracelet/strap on a Seamaster Professional? Or would a small screwdriver work to spring the post that holds the bracelet/strap in place?I had my bracelet switched to a rubber strap by a local watchmaker. I'd like to be able to switch back and forth between the strap and the bracelet but don't want to take it to the watchmaker regularly.Thanks, James
