Do you plan your collections/purchases?
Hi all,Happy Tuesday to you.For those of you that aren't one watch guys, do you plan your collections or is it more of a spontaneous thing? Do you say "I have a Sub, now I need a GMT..." etc.....Also do you plan the time of year you will make purchases? Like let's say you have a certain $$$ in the budget for watches. Is that the case?Just curious.Ryan

Fake or missed sale of the century ?
I just watched an auction finish for a watch branded Rolex Oyster. The seller has avoided using the name Rolex anywhere in his sale but uses submariner. With a starting price of $175 it receives not one bid at all. So as a beginner the only reason I would have to avoid this is because no one else has bid on it, or just trust my gut feeling that something feels badly wrong. So my question is, if it is real Rolex why has no one bid on it, or if it is a fake why would it have a starting price of $175. Or did I just miss the sale of the century :). I have only ever seen a genuine Rolex through a shop window and have seen one fake, oddly it was a watch repair guy wearing it and he reckoned it was the best buy he ever made, apart from the ugly discoloured crown and nasty magnifier on the date the rest of it seemed ok. Please learn me up on shock protection
As a relative noob to watches, I am still in the "don't always know what I don't know" phase. I have a question about shock protection in modern watches. By way of background, I don't need a super-tough watch for most daily use, but I *do* engage in some hobby activities that can be very hard on watches wrt to shock/impact etc. So I *think* that shock protection is important to me.Anywho- I think that my next watch will be either a Bremont -S2, a Sinn (either a U2 or maybe a 756 or similar), or maybe another Breitling. Some Bremont models tout a highly shock-resistant design (not the -S2, though). My question is, how unique is this? A retailer I know tells me that many modern watches feature some degree of shock protection in the basic design of the movement, and thus do not promote it that heavily as a particularly unique advantage.What say you?

I purchased this watch in December 2002 ,it has never been worn it still has the Omega plastic on the clasp etc, I have decided I would like to sell it can anyone offer me some advice on its value , While I realise it is a Omega it must have some value to a O collector.Best RegardsPaul
