Maurice Lacroix PT6197SS001130 wrist watches news:
Hi! I have automatics/chronometers De Ville co-axial GMT and automatic De Ville dress watch. I alternate these watches with my other automatic watches and thus have to resort to hand winding them at times just to keep their movements going. My question, how many turns is permissible so that I don't get to over wind these watches. I've heard that over winding damages the movement. Thanks in advance for the info that I will get.Joaquinick
i am having trouble deciding which one...in reality neither watch will be used for it's true intended purpose!
Stopped by the AD last Friday to visit and have the 5512 appraised. I mentioned I'd never seen a modern (i.e. 114060) Sub ND, so my sales rep said she'd contact me when one came in. So, thought I was good for a viewing in a month or so.She called yesterday - Fedex had just delivered a ND and a Hulk (already sold). So I gave her a deposit over the phone, and left immediately for the store - Springer's in Portsmouth, NH.Brought it home. I guess the 5512 would be it's grandfather. Delighted to get it!
I hesitate to even post this but I am curious other people's thoughts. First and foremost, I admit some fault in this. What I am about to explain could have been prevented by me.I was looking at a new watch at the local AD. In short, the watch was beautiful and I saw no damage to it. I looked it over very carefully. I agreed to purchase it. They took it in the back to remove a few stickers and box it up. They brought it out and I paid and left. When I got home I took the watch out of the box and photographed it for insurance and placed it back in the box. A couple days later I started wearing it and I noticed a slight scratch on the bezel. At first, I was angry at myself. I thought I must have done it. Then after a day or two I went back and looked at the insurance photo I took. When I zoomed in I could see the scratch was there. How angry would you be about this? I can say with roughly 80% certainty that the scratch was not there when I examined the watch but I can not say
I've been circling a PM Daytona like a shark for several months, and I'm getting close to pouncing. Last time I visited an AD, he mentioned some great financing offer. I do not need the financing, but it would be a nice-to-have. (Joint bank account, optics, u spent how much on what??? factor from the SO, etc.) I'm thinking a 20-25% discount off list is a reasonable target to shoot for, ya? I expect that the AD will counter with a financing offer. Is it reasonable to ask for both. Or should I dismiss the financing offer to maximize the discount? Or does that not matter to the AD? Any advice on strategy?Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
