Montblanc 103095 wrist watches news:
For the past several years, De Bethune has focused its research efforts on developing super-high-frequency escapements. Currently, most escapements operate at 18,000 to 36,000 vph (2.5 to 5 Hz). In 2006, De Bethune demonstrated an experimental 72,000 vph (10 Hz) silicon escapement. Their latest efforts involve engineers, watchmakers, and a physicist, all working to develop a next-gen escapement powered by non-mechanical forces. As De Bethune explains in its latest press release, taking traditional mechanical escapements beyond 10 Hz is not feasible due to reliability issues arising out of mechanical resistance and basic wear-and-tear problems. To advance the science of mechanical timekeeping, De Bethune is employing some non-traditional forces, namely synchronization between an acoustic resonator and a magnetic escapement rotor, operating in a mechanical watch. De Bethune has dubbed its discovery Horological R¨¦sonique, and it is making its research available to the watchmaking community
Today I am at SIHH here in Geneva. But most of you are not. Too badAs part of luxury watch brands further embracing the Internet, they are welcoming modern times by live blogging at the event. Finally, the Internet is their friends. How far we have come in just a few years. In addition to other brands such as Jaeger-LeCoultre, my favorite German luxury watch brand A. Lange & Sohne (the grail watch for many) will live blogging from SIHH 2010. To be honest I am not 100% sure what this will entail, but it believe it means sharing what is going on including images and new releases with you all out there. What I do know is that A. Lange & Sohne people will be there live to answer your questions and help you with whatever you need. You'll probably need to be up late at night if you are in the US for this personal attention from their staff. Otherwise I am sure there will be good stuff up for you to check out. In addition to their live blogging at the event (at the address in the link
Im looking at buying one of these guys as a christmas gift to myself. Just wondered how everyone felt about them. I love the lug design, and I love that its 44mm. Perfect size for me. So if anyones got pics (wristshots included!!) would you mind throwing them up here? Also, hows the fit and finish, general quality? Theyre really affordable, in a brand that Ive never heard many complaints about, so just checking to see what everyone thinks.THANKS!! John
Today went to Ginotti and tried the diver, and the 15400,this 15400 is outstanding,i put my name on the list for the first white one that comes in,10 % is this a good deal?
I was a Brietling fan many years ago before they became so, umm, shall we say, blingy. However, I have become rather enamored of this new model, a Chronomat 44 GMT which has the new in-house chromo movement and GMT in a nice 44mm size. It is still a little shiny for my taste but the bezel is brushed which tones it down a bit. My other concern is that the resale of these modes seems very poor (I am a bit of a flipper). Anyway, just interested in general opinions on this model. Wrist shot from earlier today. Thanks!
