James Bond Exhibit at NAWCC
The National Watch and Clock Museum will be presenting an exhibit in the summer of 2010 that will explore the subject of the watches of James Bond. Dell Deaton is the National Watch & Clock Museum¡¯s guest curator for the exhibit. Ole Skypilot had a challenge of posting pics. For a couple of months. How to bring polished stainless steel back to life?
My wife has a Movado that is a few years old. She wore it back in her waitress days and it got pretty beat up. The finish was dulled, scratched and all marked up. Because of this it sat in a drawer for quite some time. A couple years ago I decided to surprise her and have it cleaned up. I took it to a local jeweler and he quoted me $75. This seemed fair as he told me he would drop the movement out (I don't remember if he said he would remove the crystal or just cover it) and that when he was done it would look as good as new. I was pleasantly surprised at the results and when he was done it was shiny and new. Well about 2 years have passed and it is looking pretty rough again. My wife no longer waitresses and the watch is not even a daily wearer. She does however wear it along with other bracelets on the same wrist. I am sure this is the cause of the wear on the watch. I told her it would be best for the watch if she wore it solo on that arm, but apparently I know nothing about fashion

INCOMING! Sky Dweller
Just a quick post to introduce my new piece. Had the call two weeks ago from my AD and today was the first opportunity I could go to collect - it was a long two weeks! The watch has surpassed all my expectations, the white dial is amazing - it looks so different in different types of light, from silver in certain conditions to off white in others to matt white. Its really comfortable to wear and surprisingly easy to set. Anyways, I'll keep it brief as its late and been a long day.
