Carl F. Bucherer’s triple-time-zone chronograph watch, the TravelTec, gets a matte-black makeover at Baselworld 2016. Previously available in steel and rose-gold variations, the newest version of the Carl F. Bucherer Patrvai TravelTec features a scratch-resistant black DLC coating.The wafer-thin but exceptionally durable DLC (diamond-like carbon) finish on the TravelTec is applied in a multi-stage process, enhancing both the scratch-resistance and shock absorption of the 46.6-mm stainless steel case as well as the stainless steel bracelet (which is outfitted with a black DLC-coated folding clasp). Hamilton Khaki X-Patrol Watch
Ah, now here is a slide-rule bezel complication that I can use. I tend to make fun of these as I am not about to do long-division or calculate fuel consumption on a tiny slide-rule, if I need to figure that stuff out at allBut this one is actually handy. This new watch for 2012 from Hamilton is the Khaki X-Patrol and it has a metric to imperial conversion scale. That would prove useful as I often travel to Europe and having no idea how far things are and how much things weigh. I am such a proud American. Can an ETA 2824 with a Dubois Depraz 9000 complication have a perpetual calendar?
Just curious, saw a Louis Erard, which has a full calendar, advertised as having a perpetual calendar. It has the ETA 2824 with the DD 9000 complication bolted on.I spent about 40 minutes scouring the net and couldn't find any indication that the Dubois Depraz 9000 mechanism is perpetual. Louis Erard's site is pretty much an exercise in futility in terms of finding any detailed description of the mechanisms in their watches, but I would assume, if you offered a perpetual calendar you would scream it from the mountain tops.So anyway, just curious as a local jeweler has a couple of these as well. My guess is that the DD 9000 is akin to the ETA 7751 and just offers a complete calendar. If I'm mistaken, I'd like to read up on it with any links you can provide.Thanks,Bryan
