Montblanc 09671 wrist watches news:
Previously on worn&wound we've discussed those watches or watch brands that manage to achieve superb design and quality in a surprisingly / unbelievably affordable price point.? Think Steinhart with their $400, ETA powered pieces, or the $200 Maratac Pilot with a quality automatic and sapphire crystal the size of your head. ?Having spent some time with the $338?Techn¨¦ GosHawk (and previously Sparrowhawk) I am beginning to think that Techn¨¦ deserves a place in that conversation.?The GosHawk pairs unique aviator styling and excellent craftsmanship with a quality Japanese automatic movement and superior components.Case: Bead Blasted Stainless SteelMovement: Miyota 8217 AutomaticDial: BlackLume: C3Lens: Sapphire with AR coatingStrap: “Saddle” Oiled LeatherWater Res.: 50mDimensions: 41.4mm x 48.7mmThickness: 12.5mmLug Width: 20mmCrown: Screw downWarranty: 1 YearCaseThe case of the GosHawk is simple and clean, matching an aesthetic seen throughout the watch. “Is that a moon-phase?”After the sold-out New York City premiere of David Armstrong’s documentary The Watchmaker’s Apprentice, a group of watch enthusiasts gathered at Distilled in TriBeCa. A fellow collector grabbed my wrist. She turned it around to look at the dial of my watch.“I thought you were wearing a moon-phase,” she said.I was not. It was a 1949 Bulova Walton, with a small seconds subsidiary dial at 6 o’clock, easily mistaken for a moon-phase in the low light of the bar. But her assumption that it was a moon-phase only proves how familiar ladies' complicated watches are becoming. We’re in the age of the smartwatch. Yet complex mechanical watches still hold an enduring allure, as evinced by the gathering of enthusiasts at the premiere. Additionally, this marks a golden age of complicated watches for women, as watch companies recognize the changing needs and tastes of their female clientele. 2 OF 5 Despite
For this week's Bring A Loupe expect a very eclectic selection. You will discover a grail chronograph from Patek, and an iconic Rolex GMT. We've also found many beautiful blue dials, from a rare Jaeger-LeCoultre Memovox to a sparkling Lange Saxonia. And completing the round-up, we have a couple of unusual and very interesting watches, including a Tudor Advisor, and the Heuer Solunar. This is your Bring a Loupe for August 7, 2015. A Dream Patek Chronograph, The Reference 1518 1 OF 12 This Patek 1518 is undoubtedly my favorite of the week, the more so because I got the chance to put on my wrist. With this one something strange happened: I really did not want to take it offever! The proportions are on point: the small and thick case underlines the layering of the dial with its magnificent moonphase disc. Granted, the dial has some aging marks, but nothing crazy for a proud 70-year-old watch. And the applied Arabic numerals are actually a big highlight of this
I am very fascinated at the many style watches that SEIKO produces, specially the chronos from the 70's. I know they have the 2 register 6138 models and the 6139 with one register. Any information and pictures would be appreciated.
I'm curious as to how it works. Is it useful or more of a decoration?
