Who collects to collect?
I am sliding down the slippery slope but can't imagine buying a watch and not wearing it, so far so good but at some points some watches will not see any wrist time I'm sure. I'm also massively curious about the hyper expensive (or is it uber expensive for a Glashutte???) watches that trade in the forums as new and unworn but not been made for a few years?

hi allsorry if this had already been posted....just saw a movie called "Longitude" about the quest / competition put on in the 1700's by parliment, for a device that would be able to measure longitude for ships while at sea.interesting story (albeit a little slow in parts) about john harrison (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Harrison ) and his quest to gain acceptance of his clocks and eventually his watch. there is also a side story of the restoration of the clocks. heros, villians, exotic locations and yes....timepieces. who could ask for morei got it on loan from my library and am sure it is available at netflix etc.enjoy,tony

But still a bit concerned that it might be too big for my 6.5ish wrist. Here are some wrist shots for ur reference. You guys can be honest, I'm a grown man. PAM 380 This watch is 45mm in diameter but much slimmer that Luminors with short wire lugs. BP FFAnother 45mm but with short lugs again. A Sub C for good measure. Thanks in advance. Rolex pressure test -- Chicago area?
I am finally de-lurking to ask a question. Based a lot on what I've learned on TRF, I purchased my first Rolex -- a 2-line Sub 14060M -- about 2 months ago from a Trusted Seller here on the site. I absolutely love this watch and wish I had bought one ten years ago.Anyway, the watch is about 15 years old, and is running well. For peace of mind though, I would like to have it pressure tested before I take it swimming etc.Can anyone recommend someone in Chicagoland that will do a pressure test for me (and maybe replace seals if needed)? Based on older threads, I tried calling Jean Claude the Swiss Watchmaker a couple of times, but his phone just rang and rang -- is he still in business? I also tried the Rolex Service Center on Michigan Avenue, but they won't perform a pressure test without paying $600 for a complete service, which I'd rather not do just yet.Thanks for any recommendations.
