Only Watch 2015 Auction Results: Another Record for Patek Philippe
The sixth edition of the biennial Only Watch charity auction took place on November 7th at Geneva’s La R¨¦serve, with 44 one-of-a-kind timepieces, sold under the hammer of watch expert Aurel Bacs, Co-Founder of Phillips in association with Bacs & Russo, raising an astounding 11.2 million Swiss francs ($11.2 million) for the cause of battling Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.The highlight of Only Watch 2015 was a unique Patek Philippe Ref. 5016 Grande Complication (below) that sold for 7.3 million Swiss francs ($7.26 million), setting a new record for the highest price ever paid for a wristwatch at auction.Another standout was the Tudor Black Bay One, below (which we covered here), fetching a final price of 375,000 Swiss francs, more than 100 times its pre-auction estimate. In all, more than 300 bidders were in attendance, with numerous others bidding online and by phone. AD has my 5124J
I was hoping it would take longer since I seem to have bought a new PP, Rolex or Panerai about every 3 weeks since the beginning of the year but my AD has my new 5124J in and I saw it today! I thought it was pretty quick out the gate when I saw it at the Patek Salon in London 2 weeks ago but one made it to Connecticut and I had told my AD I wanted one as soon as I saw the reports from Basel.It is really elegant, I love the dial and the curved case back and I don't have anything else in YG. I probably won't be taking it home for a at least month as I need to recover from all my others purchases before I pick this up but it has my name on it and will be mine soon and my AD is patient and knows I'm a serious watch enthusiast.I'm going to take some photos tomorrow. I didn't have a camera when I popped in today.

urgent help deciding please
OK I am currently saving for a Rolex Explorer 2 (about 2 years off still) but have been offered an 2001 Omega (big size) Seamaster Pro automatic in blue for ¡ê800 with no box or papers. Should I take that or keep saving for the Rolex.I am thinking of getting the Omega for now and keep saving for the Rolex. My problem is if I buy the Omega it will set me back a year on the Rolex. I was told it is a good price for an Seamaster but I think it needs a service. I have tried the Seamaster on and its tight so will need an extra link as it is not adjustable.I have today to decide HELP!!

Anyone have a two tone black bay?
We don't hear much about the two tone BB's rarely do I recall ever seeing one listed for sale here on the forum either. I can't put my finger on why but here lately they are peaking my interest more and more. I am sure they fall in third place to many behind the black or blue Subs depending on ones tastes. I've never been a huge fan of the blue Sub. Must admit the black two tone Sub is nice but I can't see myself wearing it over my SS Subc. The Black Bay however as similar as it is or isnt has a totally different appeal to me. Anyone else around here feel the same about the TT Black Bays? It might just be next on my list. You can save the; its only gold capped and its only for folks who can't afford a real Rolex comments. I've got two precious metal pieces in my collection along with one I gave my wife for Christmas.
