Movado 0604832 wrist watches news:
With linear time indicators that resemble syringes, the "Toxic" watch concept creation by Swiss Virtual Ideas is another neat idea by the watch design firm. Showing time on linear scales means that an indicator moves across a scale and then jumps back once it reaches the end. Look closely and you can see a telescopic arm that moves across the dial with a red strip for the indicator. It moves like a vial filling up or emptying at the arm extends and pushes in the indicator. It would have been cool for it too look like one side of the indicator was filling with a colored liquid. The telescopic arm would be difficult to manufacture but by no means impossible. I like how Virtual Ideas has pushed the envelope of watch engineering limits, but still within the range of possibility. Nevertheless, a watch like this would cost a lot. Recently, I discussed the Urwerk King Cobra watch with a similar liner time concept. The Toxic watch concept features a horizontally long rectangular case with soft
After 19 months, I decided to have the bracelet brushed. After seeing the DeepSeas and AirKings with a fully brushed oyster bracelet, I knew that the bracelet on my GMT-C should be brushed. Since taking ownership of the GMT-C, as well as when I owned a Turn-O-Graph, I was always somewhat schizophrenic on the polished center link. The bracelet came out fantastic. I predict that when there is a mad-dash to take ownership of the new all -stainless Submariners, many will have the polished center link brushed. A brushed bracelet matches the satin finish on the watch head, fits Rolex's pedigree and history, and frankly, I think Rolex got it wrong when they included polished center links in the specifications. Brushed links understates the appearance of the watch, but improves the stout sport appearance that is part of Rolex's provenance.I have more images and more to the story posted at minus4plus6/116710.htm#brushed-Sheldon
It's great to find a forum where others appreciate the great "atomic" designs of the late 50's early 60's Hamilton Electrics. I just bought my first electric, a vintage Ventura that appears to be all original and in good condition. From the first time I saw this watch I wanted one. So it's been a long time coming. I went ahead and sprung for an original vs. the reissue. It has the 500 movement and the back of the case has been engraved, as the watch was a gift for somebody in 1959, if it could only talk.. It runs, then stops, then runs, then stops, so I will be sending it to Mr. Rondeau for a movement overhaul so it will run as properly as it can. I'm pretty excited about finally getting one. Hopefully there will be another one in the near future. It's like wearing art on your wrist.
Need advice here please. Are they the same size which can be used together?
Hi Guys,I tried on a few Patek Philppe watches when I was at the AD today. Wow they make a fine watch. It was not busy at all so the sales person was able to let me handle a 5101P 10 Day Tourbillon it was a bit out of my price range at 380K (CAD).I like the 5119 Calatrave model. It was going for only 18K. How much does this model sell for in the USA? Same price or much cheeper?Maybe someday for now I will stick with Rolex.Take Care,Eric
