Movado 0606605 wrist watches news:
I was playing around with my new macro-camera and when I placed it at an angle, I was able to see the vertical clutch mechanism. It was actually fascinating to watch. When the pusher is pressed (as seen in the first photo), a lever comes around with a tapered end to lift a clutch wheel off the continuously running wheel so that the chrono is not engaged. When that button is pressed again (as seen in the second photograph), the lever is release, allowing the clutch wheel to come down and engage with the continuously running wheel. The vertical clutch chrono is a much more desired and dependable than the horizontal clutch, which relies on levers to move gears over so that the teeth mesh together. This causes the seconds hand to jump one way or another when the wheel has to move for the teeth to mesh. The vertical clutch chrono is also able to run continuously without fear of excess wear or reliability/accuracy issues, which is quite contrary to the horizontal clutch. It was a real
I got a small scratch on my moon watch and would like to remove it. I have done this be fore but can't remember what I used. Help please!
What say you? Which one would you pick?
This thread popped up in the Rolex forum. I tried to keep it factually correct but I invite you all to take a look and add any other information if you think it might help. Thanks!
Hello,I'm new to this forum and I admittedly don't know much about watches.... but I want to learn. I was given a 1968 Rolex Presidential. The watch is 18K white gold with an aftermarket dial and band. The band is not made by Rolex and it's 18k yellow gold which rhodium plated to match the watch and looks exactly like a genuine Rolex band. I was told the band weighs 67.5 grams. Also, the dial is aftermarket. It's bright blue with diamonds where the numbers should be (except at 12:00 where it has the day of the week)Thank you.
