The mood was refreshingly festive inside a packed pavilion in front of Hall 1 at Basel as luminaries from the world of watches gathered to celebrate Elizabeth Doerr¡¯s new book, 12 FACES OF TIME: HOROLOGICAL VIRTUOSOS. Slated for release this fall, 12 FACES is a non-commercial, close-up look at 12 leading independent watchmakers and their mechanical masterpieces. Hello,I have recently bought a Rado to complement my small but growing watch collection.Pics are attached. I believe the watch to be genuine and original, but possibly Asian market model. It looks like a Musketeer or Golden Sabre type model.Any help with its model name or designation would be great? Many thanks

Watch Winder Questions for Perpetual Calendar
Is there any reason not to keep my new 5140 perpetual calendar on a winder when not on the wrist? I have a small, rechargeable Wolf winder (fits in my safe) that has on and off cycles, so it's not constantly turning. A related question: This winder has both clockwise and counter-clockwise cycles, and can't be programmed to turn just one direction. I think I read that the Calibre 240Q movement only winds clockwise. Is that correct, and is there any problem if the winder alternates in both directions?

Watch storage temperature
Good afternoon all, apologies if this sounds stupid!I returned home from holiday last night. This morning I went to take my watches out of the safe to give them a good wind and introduce them to my new BLNR. Lol. I noticed the safe was pretty cold to the touch (as it¡¯s been very cold in the U.K. this week) and also the contents too. Including the watches regardless of being in their travel pouches. Would being stored in a cold environment cause some internal damage over time perhaps to the oils and lubricants? Or if I¡¯m winding them once a week should this prevent any problem? I¡¯m sure there¡¯s nothing to worry about but just wanted your opinions. Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
