Omega 231.13.39.21.02.001 wrist watches news:
Thought I was only going to collect one example of each caliber from Omega's automatic offerings from the 60's..until my second 564 came along inside the 168.015 to go with the 168.005. IMO, this makes a nice combination of Constellations - one pie pan, one dome dial; one solid gold, one stainless steel; one screw back, one front loader:
I know a few brands of watches. But I don't know much about their history or quality of products. Is there like a list where I can find where they stand compared to others in relation to quality, price? Watches that I like Audemars Piguet, Breitling, Cartier, Chopard, Concord, Breguet, Ebel, Omega, Panerai, Rolex, Longines, IWC, Vacheron Constantin, Baume & Mercier, Maurice Lacroix, Zenith, & TAG Heuer.Forgot to ADD Blancpain & Hamilton. Thanks
My 15202 is on the FEDEX truck, returning from the spa, and I'm as excited as a new piece. I suppose it will be new in many regards. Just love its simplicity. Just in time for the weekend. Stay tuned for pics..
I recently bought my 15400 from a Singapore AD, which comes with two years warranty. There is a card in the box which my AD filled up for me and it is supposed to entitle me to an additional year of warranty, which means 3 years. Last night, I read the warranty book and it says I have to register in the AP website to get a 3rd year warranty. After I have done that, I got a message from AP that says : In a few weeks, you will receive a sticker to be placed in your warranty booklet. To benefit from this third year warranty, you should take your watch to an Audemars Piguet approved repair center, at the latest 24 months after purchasing it. The repair centre will carry out a water-resistance service and fill out the required information on the sticker. This service is free of charge. For additional information, please refer to the Warranty booklet you received with your watch. ....So does it means I must bring back the watch within a year from purchase to get it service in order to qualif
The 5146 is mine but I keep coming back to the 3940. If I do take the plunge I ll have to trade in the 5146. Pros for the 3940- I much prefer the dial layoutIts a perpetual calendar (compared to annual 5146)I think the size fits my wrist (6.75in) and would fit well under a shirt cuffCons-The dials seemed difficult to read but it was very poor lighting when I tried it onWill I end up regret going for a smaller watch? (I know, only I can answer that)Older model (2005)I will have to shell out ¡ê14k and trade in my 5146 for itPros for the 5146-The dial size and brown (thicker) strap make this a good casual wearerI do like the dial and I'm very fond of the leaf handsIt's a newer model (2007)Cons-It's not a perpetual Sometimes I think the case is a little too thick (that was only after I saw the 3940)Poor picture but it gives you an idea.A couple of wrist shots:AndI do have a tendency to get bored and look around for something else. I have been a flipper in the past but I'm trying to consolid
