Omega Omega 11371 wrist watches news:
G'day all, I have been debating whether to join the vintage club around here for some time. I've been on the look out for a nice 1680 white Sub.I found one here locally and would just like to run it past you guys to see what you think.1680 Sub - white writing on dial.Made in 1979In excellent nick.Case is nearly untouched with no dints etc.Bracelet is unstretched and pretty clean.Previous owner had the dial replaced 8 yrs ago. It says tritium on the dial but in fact it is luminova. Markers are nice and white & crisp.Hands have also been replaced with luminova hands.Crystal was also replaced but it is of the slightly beveled variety - not the square edge type.No box or paperwork etc etc.All in all a very nice watch.Asking price is a firm $7350usdFrom what I can gather it would be a decent deal if it had the original hands and dial along with a box and papers.Interested to hear all your thoughts on this one and the 1680 in general.
I think I'm turning JapanesehahaAnyway, I began collecting with Seiko and Orient, buying their 50-150 dollar watches and honestly I got burnt out because I bought most of what they had to offer. Now that I'm buying more expensive pieces, a whole $300-400 nowI'm back from Swiss land to see what the Japanese had to offer at a higher price point. After looking around for what seems like forever, and thinking over and over about what I really wanted in a watch I found it. My original criteria called for a 36-38mm watch, comfortable, sapphire, and 100m resistance. After looking at the SCVS/Sarb lines, and the Orient Star'sI found a picture that showed me the case on the scvs001, I was sold.the case design on the newer spirits like the scvs011 and Sarb023 were too blocky for meI wanted something understated/classy but not out of place with jeans. The pillow like case with rounded lugs that are aggressively turned downso classy IMOthe cream dial with gold (I know I know) can go with jeans/K
Okay, it’s been a couple of weeks now, so it's time for a bit of a review of the G-Shock.This model is the G-1000H-1A, with an analogue-display, which I found unusual in the G-Shock range. There is another model (G-1000H-9A) which is ‘gold’ but looks more of a tan or camel colour to me (see pic).Well, first impressions:The watch is light for its size, but with the materials it’s made of I guess that’s not unusual. Fit & finish are very good, which is to be expected for a G-Shock, and the dial is extremely detailed, with the sub dials catching & reflecting the light wonderfully. The dial itself has interesting vertical contrasting lines which I have captured in some of the pics. This is an effect hard to describe but very nice to look at.A smallish date window sits midway between 4 and 5 o’clock. It could be a bit hard to read if your eyes aren’t spot on.The case measures approx 41.5mm diagonally from button to button, which sits just ri
This is my third Speedy project and I couldn't be more excited with how it turned out. The previous three never connected with me. I just never know how these are going to turn out. So many people love so many different things about timepieces. Well one thing I love if my wide assortment of 20mm straps.I purchased the Speedmaster First Omega in Space and believe it to be the nicest Speedy edition example out there. But at 19mm I simply couldn't keep it. And 20mm straps don't fit--not properly anyways. So that said--here she is. Have thought about the 116618 and wondered if it is too dressy for daily wear? I am a physician who works in a clinic. Also, I think it comes with either a sunburst blue dial or in some cases a flat blue dial with diamonds. Which looks better of those who have seen them? Thanks.
