Zenith 86.0526.4035/21.M527 wrist watches news:
Finally the 1962 has returned from a complete overhaul, including rebuilding the 36mm rose gold case. I am very happy with the results and it is getting many wrist hours! It has a 268 movement and is keeping time well within COSC specs. I did say I would share some pictures when it returned so here are a couple of quick shots ....
Hi there,We recently purchased this Illinois watch at an antique shop in Toronto and would love to know more about it ¡ª the model name, production history, anything! We've done our best to find this out ourselves, but as absolute newcomers to the world of vintage watches, we've only had limited success. It seems close to a model called the Whippet, but we haven't been able to find an exact match to photos or old ads online. A peak inside the watch tells us it has 17 jewels and the serial number is 5124274. One online serial number look-up told it was likely made in 1929, another told us 1927. We don't have the experience (or the reference books) to solve this mystery alone. Would any of you watch sleuths care to take on the case? Many thanks,Mike & ChristineTorontoIllinois Wrist Watch 1.jpgIllinois Wrist Watch 2.jpgIllinois Wrist Watch 3.jpg
This watch was my Grandfather's, who retired from Rock Island Railroad in the late 60's. Hamilton 992, SN#2454535, 21 jewels. It needs the winder, and maybe some other parts. Is this a lever set? If so, the lever is missing. i would really like to get this working, preferably myself. Checked the SN, one place said
Can anyone tell me the length of the 42mm Panda and 44mm chronos? E.g., a Panerai measures 44mm x 52mm.I'm trying to determine if the lugs will extend past my wrist. Thanks very much.
PS: I hope will be better then now!PS2: I read somewhere sometimes don¡ät fit better one half-link fits better then two, I mean Sometimes, and especially here where I live, I have 4 season in one day, Hot, Very Hot, Warm, Cold, RainIT¡äS TRUE?BTW my Wrist 16cm, 6,3 InchMy Opinion, now it¡äs 7 links with one half-link in 6 O¡äclock position, and 6 link with one-half link in 12 O¡äclock side.My wrist now swelled and now It¡äs tight, and I like my watch can slide in my wrist but of course not so much. Here are the results:What do you guys Think About it?And should I remove a link and just let one one link and half link in each side?Or let like thisTks!
