Cartier WJCL0014 wrist watches news:
We have said this before and will say it again: the tourbillon, as visually arresting and technically challenging of a complication as it is, over the course of the last decade or so, has become more and more?widely available, with just about any and all higher-end brands?featuring it in their portfolios. The?Arnold & Son Royal TES Tourbillon manages to spice things up just enough to render?the "whirlwind" in watchmaking?more?refreshing and fascinating, all the?while?leaving this?over 2-century-old invention nearly perfectly intact. So how?does Arnold & Son's achievement justify this potentially controversial assertion? First, let's see where the Arnold & Son Royal TES Tourbillon watch remains business as usual.?As far as actual performance is concerned,?this 2014 novelty?features the more ubiquitous?1-minute tourbillon, in this case, operating at 3 Hertz, or 21,600 vibrations per hour. And while that is slightly above the 18 thousand beats per hour standard of tourbillons,
Picked up my first manual wind watch today with Omega's 3201 caliber (I know the 3xxx movements are contested movments), and I was just wondering if anybody could help me out with the winding operation, as this is the first full manual wind watch i've owned. The winding instructions say to "turn the crown until it stops". I wound the watch, and after about 10 turns it didn't stop, the best way i can describe it is it went from smooth turning to feeling like I was twisting rubberthe crown would still turn though offering up slightly more resistance, but when I let the crown go it would turn backwards a little.. Again, as if I were twisting a rubber band. Does this mean the watch is fully wound? or should I keep going until it literally stops? My first thought was that it was fully wound when I felt the increased tension and "rubbery" play of the crown. But after one full day of wear I expected to be able to give it at least a few more turns with little resistance, but the crown would
It's a good day when you salvage one from the scrap heap! Here's the "before" thread:Project Watch Club: "before" - Vintage Heuer...and a few pics of the replacement dial:Heuer dial came today! The original dial was relumed very poorly but the replacement cost less than what the first restoration place wanted for a refinish. Anyway, let's get to the pics (and forgive the couple little pieces of dust):This is the second watch over 40 mm in my collection, and like the other it also doesn't have the crown in the traditional place. It's pretty chunky but very comfortable. I'll have to get used to not having a running second hand anywhere, but I can live with that because I really like this watch! Alright, time for the numbers. I see these selling in similar shape for anywhere from $1500 to just over $2000 depending on the condition. I have $1446 into this:- $770 initial cost from eBay - $312 for the dial (ouch!)- $66 for the bezel- $298 for the service & restoration inc
Been waiting for this beauty for a while and she finally came in. Love the weight and the color of the dial. Its great
