Romain Jerome CH.TOXY3.BBBB.00.BB wrist watches news:
Typical AD conversation.."The retail price for the watch is $XXXX, and our price is $YYYY".Depending on the AD and other factors, the discount could be from 10-30%.What's got me thinking is..well, this is all very good for us, the consumers..I get a $5000 watch for around $3300. But then what happens to the difference ?Was $3300 the price the AD "buys" the watch from Omega. Or perhaps even less, to account for their profit ?Does the AD account for the discount just to move inventory? That doesn't sound like a good business practice? As far as I know, both Omega and (most) AD's are doing well..so they must be turning a profit. If so, why can't they just list the watch at $3300. I know this is applicable to most brands, but I thought I'd post here rather than the GD to avoid brand bashing.

TheTwins.jpgHaving recently developed a craze for this maker/model, I¡¯ve found that there¡¯s very little information available. There¡¯s scope for a good database to address this as, of the three I¡¯ve acquired, there are for example 3 different movements and two variant marque logo styles. If you own a Nivada LdV would you please send me pics and a note of:?Watch number ?Number (four digit) on inner face of back cover ?ETA calibre # ?Functionality ¨C i.e. Automatic with quick change date/Automatic with 24hr cycling date change/Manual wind I hope to create a comprehensive database for ongoing updating/maintenance.Many thanks in advance for any help with this.DavidThe Old Watchword
Just came today:When it was restored at JLC's factory in Le Sentier, they accidentally put T SWISS MADE T on the dial even though there was never any lume. Well, they corrected it for free:Now it's 100% true to original. You gotta love service like that! I guess you can imagine what I'll be wearing tonight & tomorrow.
I called AP in Clearwater today as my 15400 is gaining about 2 minutes a week... they suggested that I send it in to be looked at. In the instructions, it says to bubble wrap the watch, not to send in the original watch box...Any suggestions on the best way to package it for service? Thanks guys
