Building a Pilot's watch
Hey, fist time poster, Well I have decided to get myself a good automatic watch for flying. I did some research and decided that I want a chrono grade Valjoux 7750 movement. The only other requirement is that second hand (and the stopwatch hand) need to be highly visible and illuminated, as I need to be able to count off seconds easily for flying). I have been looking at O&Ws and some Marathons, then I found this site,[non-sponsor link removed] And figured I would talk to my local watch shop and just build my own watch. I like the case from ofrei however I need a dial and bezel that more resembles this (with the E6B slide rule), of course it has to accommodate the Val 7750.or maybe this (though I would rather have all black) I'm thinking overall I would like a cross between a SAR and that Aviation watch I posted the pic of Does anyone know where I can find a bezel/dial, etc??? Advice on first ap for keeps
Hi trf!I am currently contemplating my first ap.I have narrowed it down to the 39mm ro blue dial or the ro chrono 41mm in blue or black.My only considerations are:1. I have a puny 6 inch wrist and i am wary of the 41 being too big2. I have heard stories of ap in general having issues with the movement. Should i be worried of the movement in either of the two models?As a background i already have a 5167 which i enjoy very much.Is the ro too similar to the aquanaut?Thanks in advance!Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
