ROLEX New York VISIT
FYI - Today I walked into the Rolex showroom on fifth avenue. I believe it is actually a Wempe store but exclusively dedicated to Rolex - thy have another shop for other watch brands and jewelry a few blocks north. Quite disappointed in the experience. I asked to try on a 116613 LB and the sales person was a poor representative for the brand. I have been to the other Wempe location and their salespeople were extremely knowledgeable and much more helpful than this person at the Rolex showroom. Perhaps that particular location is dedicated to tourists only because the sales person was quite surprised to hear I was from New York. Anyway, it is a pity to have such a great showroom (with every watch in stock to be explored) and yet have poor representation of the brand. Hopefully, it was a singular experience.

It's been asked before ,but not recently, so I'll bring it up again.How did you all happen to discover the wonderful (most of the time) world of watch fora??For me it was Feb. of 2005 when I realized that I was not the only person suffering from this rare affliction of WISfluenza.I had just gotten a computer in the house and immediately found ebay and began searching "vintage watches"I proceeded to buy some vintage Bulovas and one ,a Sea King with the whale logo, made me wonder how the watch differred from the other Bulovas as far as water resistance et al.This led me to a Bulova watch forum which ,in turn led me to WUS.WUS had a bit of an upheaval at the time and I ended up at a place called "Invicta Talk" which became BDWF and all of a sudden I was a part owner of a watch forum!Following in the footsteps of WUS here was an upheaval at BDWF and ,for a bit, I was a WIS without a forum.I was an intermittent poster at a place called WTF and as time went by it became the place to hang my
