Omega and Tourbillon Boutiques Present Apollo and Gemini in Las Vegas
Astronauts from the landmark Gemini and Apollo NASA programs will join Omega and Tourbillon in Las Vegas to celebrate an exhibit featuring rare artifacts from the iconic space missions. The exhibit will showcase a Lunar Rover, an Apollo 10 space suit and Mars Rover, and Omega Speedmaster watches. The exhibit runs from October 20th to 24th at City Center and is open to the public. In addition to the exhibit, Omega and Tourbillon will host an invitation-only VIP cocktail reception Thursday, October 20th from 6 p.m. ¨C 9 p.m. at the Tourbillon boutique. The reception will honor Gemini and Apollo astronaut Lt. General Thomas Stafford and Apollo 17 astronaut¡ªand last man to walk on the moon¡ªCaptain Gene Cernan. I lam a native of Lancaster PA and did work for Hamilton Watch for many years before they left the area in 2003.Most of the hand engraved printing plates were sold to a collector in 2005.I have all of the remaining tools for the dial imprinting of Hamilton watch dials from 1939 until 1980.These are hand engraved printing plates for some of the Hamilton models and also the many printing plates used in their award business that was a large part of their business.Bowl Games priint plates1939 NY Yankees print platesDudley DoRight cartoon print platesUS government print platesOriginal 9 drawer hardwood "map" cabinet with many plates.A treasure trove of Hamilton history and all hand engraved steel. Well they are not quite what I want to capture. My camera has a pathetic Macro mode. Its not bad though considering the camera cost only $150 or so. I guess you get what you pay for! Anyway some shots from my morning walk here, and a few others. I love how the Hestalite crystal looks in the light and how it distorts at certain angles. I love how it gives the watch a warm look at the right angles with with the right lighting. Some were cell phone pics, so they didnt come too well.
