Taking inspiration from a previous thread, I wonder would it be inappropriate wearing a nice digital watch in a business attire (suit and a tie). For example the Junghans mega 1000. (pic borrowed)What do you think? Is it out of style?
My local AD is having his annual watch show and sale and I dropped by today to see what's new. I had seen the new Tissot Classic Dream only in internet photos, but I was blown away by the style and obvious quality of this quartz men's dress watch (it comes in several variations of dial color, indices or numbers and strap or bracelet), especially in comparison to some of his similar high-dollar mechanicals and quartzes, considering the amazing price of the Tissot. I've seen this on the Internet for somewhere around $235 to $250. I walked out the door for $162.80 including taxes.Dimensions are 38mm case (40 with crown), 46mm lug-to-lug, thickness 8mm, and strap size of 19mm, all my measurements with a good caliper. The Roman numbers are yellow, as are the hands. There are small lume dots above the numbers, or so I thought, but I just checked and they're not. Just as well, as I don't particularly like lume on a dress piece. The case is stainless, the crown is gold-plated. Back is solid, o
Here's what a little work and saving a few extra dollars every week got me. It's my first true luxury watch and I just love it. The size is perfect, weight is impressive to say the least, the look is different and the build quality it top notch.
Title says it all. I have both the black and white Explorer II and have been thinking of trading the black for a FOIS 1962 re-edition. It's that or sell off a couple of other Omegas to get it. Please tell me your rationale for your decision. I hate to flip but have been really thinking about what watches make sense for me longer term and I don't think that I will keep the two Speedy dates and the black Explorer II long term so I might as well trade for a piece that I see as a long term acquisition.
