- The glass is so thick I could not read the time. The numbers should also be darker. It looked cheap and the band seemed flimsy I was afraid it would break. Definitely not as nice as on TV . I got the ivory. I am returning.

Hi everyone, I'm leaning strongly toward a dd40 with a Breguet 5817 coming in second (particularly with new silicon balance wheel and hairspring if I do a special order), buuuut, several people have suggested the 5711. I'm looking at pictures of the 5711 (3 year wait at the pp tiffany boutique in nyc, 1 year at wempe). It looks nice but two things are holding me back from more seriously considering the 5711.The first is the power reserve. 35 to 45hr is awesomely honest, but why the variance? Also, 35 isn't really enough time to put the watch down in the evening, wear another watch the next day, and pick it up again the next morning (isochronism and whatnot, I mean, even if it barely makes the 35 hours).I wanted to ask your thoughts about that, please. The second issue is the short service interval compared to Rolex. 3 to maybe 5 years versus 10. Even the Breguet should be more 5 years with the silicon parts. Yes, the 5711 has a silicon hairspring, but it's closer to 3 yrs, I've been tol
It just arrived and I like it even more than I did in the store. To me, it's the perfect combination with all of the attributes I was looking for: it's sporty, casual, dressy, and has several complications that I don't currently have (chrono, annual calendar, power reserve, etc). Just as important, it's one of the most modern looking Pateks. Thanks again to the enablers and support!
