Oh, Celebrities And Their Rolex Watches!
I am typically not one for celebrity gossip. As far as I am concerned, celebrities, for the most part, are just like you and me, but less intelligent, with more money, and with lots more free time on their hands. But when you combine watches and celebrities I get a bit interested, if not for sheer voyeuristic intentions.Here is a little enjoyable blog about celebrities and their Rolex watches. Some shots are glamorous, some are less than so. The bottom line is that these celebrities never seem to take their Rolex watches off. Don't be impressed however when a celebrity chooses to wear a Rolex. They sure are nice watches, but they are basically the default "nice watch." Sort of like "new money's first luxury watch." Never a bad choice, but not the only choice. Nevertheless, no true watch collection is complete without at least a handful of Rolex watches. I Owed some Omega Pictures
Hello all,Some time ago I did a post regarding a project I had done for my boss (Link). In that post I mentioned an Omega that he had given as well. The Omega required a bit more work and has gone back to the watchmaker a couple of times, but I think we are now in pretty good shape.Here is where we started - as best I can tell, this is a OT 14393 from 1960 or so. I did some poking around on the Omega website researching this and I am pretty sure that is the model we are looking at.As you can tell, it came on a 3rd party bracelet and was in pretty bad shape. The dial had already been (poorly) redone - they were a little sloppy in placement and with the amount of adhesive they used.One of the screws had lodged itself in the mechanism as well.Here is a better shot of the dial. You can see some of the misalignment.So, off to the watchmaker for some attention to the movement and the dial went off for refinishing. Nothing to worry about as far as originality as it had already been done

What Omega is this?
Morning folks!I was walking past a pawn shop in London yesterday and spotted this Omega in the shop window. The pawnshop owner wouldn't let me handle the watch and was sat behind a 4 inch thick glass window (guess he may have been bitten by previous experience). He did however hold up and show me the watch so I could take photos of it.Anyone know what kind of Omega this is? And if its genuine?
