Why I wear AP
I have recently come out of the tunnel on a business deal/construction project took three nightmarish years. We still aren't 100% sure it will be a success, but I have survived three of the most awful partners fighting, threatening lawsuits, etc and are back on track. My First AP Experience
I went to a local AP AD while visiting my parents in Naples, FL today.I never saw an AP Royal Oak 15400 in person and had to try one on. Before I had seen it in person, I was skeptical of what others had seen in this watch. The pictures did not thrill my soul or create the I must have this - I NEED THIS! syndrome that I have been inflicted with when seeing other watches on line. As I took off my newly acquired Hulk and placed the silver dial RO on my wrist, I became enamored with this exquisite timepiece. The watch and I took to each other the way Thor and his hammer must have when they first met.Now, the dilemma has set in. I have found my grail (or maybe it has found me) and have to think about how I can eventually acquire one. I know that of the 4 Rolex watches I own, the EXP II would be the first to go. Definition of a Grail watch?
This is probably obvious but honestly I feel like everyone's definition of grail watch is so different that sometimes it confuses me. Originally I thought grail watch is a watch that's just too expensive but then unless we are talking about those watches over say a million dollars and that are super limited in who can even buy them, most watches (especially those people sometimes call grail) are technically affordable as they are typically cheaper than a car or in the more extreme cases a house. They may not be something you want to spend the money on, but that's a choice.The other definition I was guessing was that it's a watch that one watch to rule them all in that once you get the grail watch, you are set for that watch for the rest of your life? If that's the case, then no one would be flipping grail watches.So what's your definition of a grail watch? What makes it your grail?
