Ball Engineer Hydrocarbon Spacemaster Orbital Watch
"The Amortiser" sounds like a banking industry themed super villain. But here it is a cool piece of functionality that you won't find on other watches in this price range. New from Ball watches is the Engineer Hydrocarbon Spacemaster Orbital watch, a mouthful of a name, but suitable for a chunky timepiece with this much functionality. I got my hands on this watch, which should be available close to the time you read this.Ball fitted the Spacemaster Orbital (what I will call it for short) with ETA's newer Valjoux 7754. Newer, as in released in 2003 (or so), which is fresh from the egg compared to some other movements we know and love that have been used since the 1970s. The 7754 automatic is based on the famed 7750, but adds a GMT complication to the mix. Even so, it still has a power reserve of about 46 hours. Been looking at vintage Seikos for too long (ask Daron ). Found one that was right up my alley tonight:It's a 5646-7010 in what the seller says is mint condition with only a few swirls on the case. What made it so funny is I found it at nearly the same time the Spaceview sold. Call me Even Steven. ps - don't tell anyone in the other forums. Most of them don't get it.

Racing co-axial speedmaster surprise
Today, I went to the Omega boutique to look at a few speedmasters. The model I wanted to see up close was the Number Edition moonwatch with the manual wind. I have a very small wrist, under 6.5 inches, and thougth that the 39.7mm would be perfect. Tried it on but did not fall in love with the fit. The lugs extended off my wrist ever so slight. The sales clerk recommended the Racing Co-Axial Speedmaster. At first I said it was not necessary thinging it would be much to large. However I did try it on because the sales person said the lugs are slightly different and because I was there might as well try it on. To my surprise it fit much better than the Number Edition. Now I just need to make up my mind on color, but I am leaning toward the black with the black sub-dials. Would apprciate opionions from people that have this watch. Also what is the significance of the co-axial movement. Thank you in advance.

Hi, new to this thread. Don't know much about watches, but have been doing my research for the past few months and met with some rolex dealers. Planning to get one for my fiance as a wedding/30th gift but torn between the:Datejust 41 two tone with the champagne dial or the Sub two tone with the blue dial.
