Gucci Launches New Watch for 2013 Grammy Awards
The 55th Annual Grammy Awards will take place this weekend in Los Angeles, and for the third year in a row, Gucci Timepieces & Jewelry will release a new, Grammy-branded wristwatch to coincide with the music industry’s biggest night.  In 2010, Gucci launched its Grammy Special Edition watch collection as part of a three-year partnership with The Recording Academy, organizers of the Grammys. The latest edition to the collection is a timepiece whose design offers a variation on Gucci’s interlocking “Double G” motif, which is incorporated into the bezel. There are two models, each with stainless-steel cases that measure 42 mm in diameter. One has a sun-brushed finish and a black dial; the other has a black PVD finish and a dark yellow dial. The minimalist dials ¡ª with the ¡®Gucci¡¯ logo at 12 o’clock ¡ª are enlivened by circular-grained surfaces that recall the grooves on a vinyl record. However, my best mate back home asked me to ask my Rolex AD here in Singapore, who is also an Omega AD, if he'd be getting the James Bond limited edition piece in.Yep, he's getting one and he's offered me 15% discount without me even asking.
