Hi all,I haven't posted here for ages, so it's nice that I do so with good news. I have been hunting for a solid gold Connie for a long time. I like Connies because they often don't have Tritium paint which I don't like when it turns brown. Some do, but not my taste. I also wanted a 56x series movement.I found one and got it today. It has black onyx type marking and is fantastic condition. I'll put a pic up over the w/e. I've been looking for nearly 2 years, so chuffed to bits.It is weird being in possession now. I normally wear POs, ATs or Speedies, so to wear a 35mm watch again is absolutely weird.I opened the back and it has just been serviced, so all it shining bright.It is also weird not having a quickset date. I had to wind on 26 days - phew!The only very very small downer is the crown has a large ding on the flat side, where the Omega symbol is.

Guys,I already have an AP15202 aka Ultra Thin... which was my Grail and I am thinking (just thinking) of starting to think of maybe adding an AP to this Grail.So if it was you what would you accompany it with (consider you only have this one watch the ultra thin).Pictures are welcomeWael

Speedy advice
OK having a decent collection of Rolex and looking to add some variety ive always been intersted in the speedmaster moonwatch, (ive got a PO and cant fault it) Now im not really up to speed(no pun intended) on the models nor the pricing, i like the idea of the plexiglass as a vintage point of view.I went into one of the local AD's last night and got offered one for about $3400usd with the massive omega box(loupe,straps ect...)Is this a decent price or am i paying for packaging... after all you dont wear the box lol! its very cool but its going to live in the cupboard with all the other ones.Should i look for an older second hand pre special packaging? or is this a decent price for this set?just looking for some knowledgeable opinions cheers

Gentlemen and ladies,I am thinking about this model very much. So much in fact I am considering taking out a HELOC at 3% to purchase one. As the old model was selling for 1.5x the msrp of nearly $100,000 this is surely a good bargain at $96,000. Plus it is a great investment that will surely double in no time. What do you think?P.S. I will keep the stickers on.

Want to buy my first - where?
After years of chasing the dragon and buying Omega, Tudor, MKII, etc... It's time I end this and buy what I've always wanted.A no date sub with lug holes - so a 14060M.Where do I start? Been lurking on watchrecon and watchpatrol but want to ensure I'm buying the seller first and foremost. Love to hear how to go about doing this.
