Omega 231.10.44.50.09.001 wrist watches news:
The coming of the coaxial 8500 is getting lots of "ink" lately. My question is why is this movement garnering so much attention and anticipation?
I picked up this pocetwatch last week, but can't find out who made it. It has "S+P" & "0800" stamped inside the caseback and "S+P" & "243" stamped on the movement. I'm wondering if the "S"=Swiss & and the "P"=Patent? There is also a ladies name with a Feb. 1891 date engraved inside. The decorative engraving on the outside has a rose gold dove flying into a rose gold nest. Can anyone provide additional information on this watch?
shopgoodwill - #23589558 - VTG MEN'S BULOVA WATCHES & MORE PARTS/REPAIR 5LB - 8/18/2015 1:00:00 PMAlways like to take a brows over goodthefts website, but what am I missing here?A bunch of watches, sure a couple of interesting Accutrons. But damn! $3700 with an hr left to go in the auction.I swear these clowns shill bid to jack up the prices.Anyone spot the $2500 watch among this lot?
I know they are cheap and cheerful (or you could bash them as cheap and nasty), but there are some good ones out there, and some interesting limited edition pieces. It has been mentioned many a time that Swatch 'saved' the Swiss Watch industry when it was at it's worst point, by making Swiss made watches stylish and affordable to the general public. So, does anyone at WTF actually collect Swatches? I don't see any posted here in the WOTD threads - is it because they aren't a watch for a 'serious' collector? For anyone who didn't catch the thread I posted some time ago, I had some fun cleaning up a friend's Swatch that he had given to him by a Swiss visitor in the 90's. It's an auto, and I think it looks kinda cool...I'd love to see other people's Swatches if they care to post
Is there anything special that needs to be done to my GMT II after I have gone for a swim in the ocean? I saw a picture of a sub and the owner had removed the bezel to clean it after a swim in the ocean. I typically just rinse my watch under fresh water.
