Omega 231.10.44.50.01.001 wrist watches news:
Late night e-mails from German-born Swiss watchmaker Thomas Prescher are always interesting. This is the man who has brought us the first triple axis-tourbillon and who really epitomizes the concept of independent watchmaker. Always inspired, the newest watch by Mr. Prescher is his most impressive and ambitious project yet. Called the Nemo Sub I, this is perhaps the most interesting new watch of 2014, and is likely to stay that way. What you see is a mostly sapphire crystal case that is meant to look like a steampunk submarine dreamed out of the work of early science fiction writer Jules Verne. This is also the third in a series of "Nemo" watches, inspired by the Captain Nemo character that is featured in Verne's Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea and The Mysterious Island.? This watch journey began with the simple (for Thomas Prescher) limited edition Nemo Sailor in 2012 and later more complicated and also limited Nemo Captain tourbillon in 2013. For 2014 the two first pieces are to
Hello all,I have always loved watches but am VERY new to collecting them and even newer to this forum. Currently my collection consists of a Tag Heuer Carrera (non-chronograph) and an Omega Speedmaster Professional. Both of them come in stainless steel bracelets, but I am considering getting a brown strap for the Tag and a black one for the Omega. I would like them both to come wiht a deployment clasp. Just curious how much you all think that will cost and what your general thoughts are to leather bands to those two watches.Thank you in advance for your thoughts and feedback.
What watch brands (and models) hold their values the best (your opinion only)? Both over the short and long term. This is an opinion based question. I know how much people here dislike talking values, (i have no clue why), to me that is part of the fun of watches...What brands plummet and never regain value the moment they leave the store?I will give my novice opinion. I think the Rolex President P or G(2nd hand) or Sub is one of the best values in watches. I dont care for rolex, but that watch seems to be a great value. UN seems to drop significantly (new or used). Which sucks because I love the brand.PP is pretty even keel.Panerai, I am still looking at, I just dont knowthere are man many others, but these are the ones that popped into my mind
With all the talk of future generations not even wanting watches, this survey result was nice to see.
After going through countless amount of different watches, I've now shortened my collection to just Sub-C, GMTII and Omega Speedmaster.I am really glad to have aquired a Sub-C Date in my collection Special thanks to Thanh aka Takuya for his awesomeness!
